A Little More Wonder Is on Its Way. New Pomme Collection Coming Soon.

About Us

Pomme: Our Story & Craft

Pomme’s story is rooted in a family’s love of knitting. Our manufacturing heritage began in 1992 with Sudhir Bhatia and his sons, Sahil and Suraj Bhatia, bringing together specialist training in Germany and the UK with a shared ambition to create beautifully made knitted products.

From our manufacturing home in Kundli, Haryana, that knowledge has grown through years of making knitwear and home furnishings for brands across Europe and America. Behind every collection is a close-knit team, bringing experience, curiosity, and a personal touch to the work.

Today, Pomme brings that heritage into everyday life through playful companions, cosy layers, and thoughtful pieces for the home. It is a story that continues one stitch, one idea, and one little comfort at a time.

Where Ideas Take Shape

Every Pomme piece begins with a little curiosity. A colour combination, an interesting stitch, or a character full of personality can become the starting point for something new.

Our design and development team brings imagination together with technical knowledge, exploring patterns, textures, and shapes through design and sampling. Alongside our own collections, we work closely with brand partners to develop pieces that reflect their individual style and the people they design for.

Japanese Shima Seiki machines and digital design tools help us explore those possibilities. With knitting capabilities from 3 to 12 gauge and widths up to 240 cm, we can work across a varied range of fabrics, from finer knits to more substantial textures.

The Art of the Knit

Texture is part of Pomme’s personality. From the quiet simplicity of garter and moss stitches to intricate cables, Aran patterns, and delicate pointelle, each technique gives a piece its own character.

Our computerised flat-bed knitting machines bring these details to life through intarsia, jacquard, structured stitches, and shaped knitting. Shima Seiki SRY machines also allow us to explore dimensional surfaces and distinctive three-dimensional effects.

Supported by SDS design systems and an experienced knitting team, technology becomes a tool for creativity. It helps us turn an idea into something you can see, touch, and make part of your everyday life.

Bringing It All Together

Knitting gives a piece its texture; stitching brings its parts together. This stage is about giving the same attention to the joins and construction as to the pattern itself.

Our teams work closely across production, keeping the original design in view as each piece takes shape. It is the less visible side of making, but an important part of a thoughtfully finished product.

Care in Every Detail

Quality is not simply a final check. It is an ongoing part of the making process, from the yarn we begin with to the finished piece.

Our team carries out checks throughout production, working to the specifications agreed for each product. Keeping this attention close to every stage helps us maintain consistency and address details along the way.

For Pomme, thoughtful design and careful making belong together. The aim is always a piece that feels as considered as it looks.

The Finishing Touches

The final details help a design feel complete. A wash, an embroidered feature, or a printed element can bring another layer of texture and character to a knitted piece.

With capabilities including washing, embroidery, and printing in-house, we can keep these stages closely connected to the rest of production. Not every design needs every finish; each is guided by the character of the piece and its agreed specifications.

Always Looking Forward

There is always something new to discover in knitting. A different texture to explore, a design to refine, or a way to make the process work better.

Our next chapter centres on continued design development, sampling, and investment in our knitting capabilities. As we grow, we aim to expand capacity thoughtfully, keep our equipment up to date, and pursue the certifications required for the products and markets we serve.

The ambition is simple: to keep learning and making, while holding on to the care that shaped our beginnings.

Our Responsibilities

Thoughtful making extends beyond the finished product. It includes the people behind it, the place where it is made, and the impact of the work itself.

We recognise our responsibilities to our team, the environment, and the wider community. Our commitment is to meet applicable local requirements and continue improving how we work, with social and environmental considerations remaining part of that process.

For Pomme, responsibility is an ongoing effort, not a finishing touch. It belongs alongside design, development, and production as we plan what comes next.
